Google PageRank Update Going On It Seems

It seems Google is updating their Pagerank currently. I’m noticing many blogs reporting so. But I’ve not observed a change on any of my sites. However, I’ve been looking forward to it since I moved my blog to /blog/. I have PR6 on the homepage and eager to see what Google gives for my new blog here.

I have seen changes in PR for sites in my directory list (it just means a lot of work in coming days for me). 🙂

It’s confirmed that it’s going on.

Oh thats great… It means i can expect some happy news (hopefully) for my sites anytime now..

I think it has been going on…we haven’t seen a jump in PR, but we did fall significantly in the SERPs. Sad day!

my friend’s blog just got the effect, but mine is yet,

and i saw that this blog has PR4,

Same here.. One of my friend’s blog has gone from 4 to 6.

No change here yet.

nice tips bro..

you have nice blog…

have a nice day.. 😀

Love your blog!

I have a website

That ranks Internet celebs.

We went live a couple months ago and now we are a page rank 3. We are wanting to get even higher of course! Do you consulting?

I guess its the new year thing, google update its page rank at begin of a new year, thats quite usual

I’ve had a lot of my sites drop 1 pagerank point, one site rise 1 point, and one rise from 2 to 5. Oh well. I hope things are better overall around April or so.

@Steve, Hope Google has something good in store for the new year..

@Scott, Oh… I’m not seeing any change yet. No rise, no fall..

Just a min.. So long i’ve been checking pagerank using my Chrome bookmarklet. Looks like its been showing the wrong rank.

I checked with PR Checker and has gone from PR6 to PR5. from PR0 to PR4.. So, thats sorta good news for me 🙂 🙂

It’s nice to see some of my sites have increased their rankings, but I have given up worrying about PR too much. it’s a bit of a “red herring”.

Yeah, my blog still have PR 3. But the other drop to PR 1

Nice post, thanks for letting me know about the PR update, I had no idea! My site is only a PR 2, so it’s likely I won’t be affected much. I have noticed my rankings shifting quite a bit as well, so it does seem like somethings amiss. I hope that it works out well for both of us!

Hari, I noticed that you mentioned moving your blog recently….I have my business blog on a subdomain of the main site right now, and have been thinking of moving it to its own page on the main domain…..will this affect my rankings negatively or positively, do you think? Also, is it hard to do? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Keep up your great work here!

Hey Peter,

All the best with the PR update for you too..

Regarding your question about moving blog, it won’t affect your rankings as long as you set up 301 redirects.. Since you are moving from subdomain to a main domain, users will be able to remember the URL better.. 🙂

yes,The update is complete,Google has been generous on many blog’s and website(s) their PR has shot up on most occasions.

This comes as a surprise after Google’s last PR update(Which was very strict)

It might just be that webmasters got the message and improved their practices. Google’s methods are crating a sort of unnatural “natural selection” in website technical evolution.

newbie question 🙂 how to get higher page rank? for example your index page is pr6 what we need to do to get the high?

Looking for more PR myself!

Yes that’s right Google has updated its PR. I have got PR1 for my website.

PR update has been completed for this time around.

I don’t know how to rank page rank. Some say it means everything and other say it does not. I just try to build really good sites and go from there.

Unfortunately the changes I’ve seen have been down grades.

Of course mine has not moved at all yet.

My site has just gone live only recently so it hasn’t budged an inch yet. But it’s good news that Google update’s going on. I hope to push my website even just a little bit upwards. Thanks for the alert.

Looks like a PR5 from where I’m sitting. Nicely done. We’re seeing no movement. We’ve been stuck at PR6 for over a year and have been adding links and pages the entire time. Very, very frustrating. On the other hand, traffic is growing fast and driving up revenues so really, who cares about PR?

Google changes it usually after every 90-120 days..Not exactly..

thanks for the info…keep the updates coming…

thanks for the info…

keep the updates coming…

I am having a tough time getting up in ranks…

I’m on the lookout for a blog script when searching found this blog on Google . Seems to be informative Good Luck Blogmaster

According to SEOmoz website pagerank is exponential so the higher your pagerank goes the harder it is to get to the next level.

i.e. the jump from 4 to 5 is much easier than 5 to 6

thanks for the info, newbie learns for blogging, why improving page rank is this hard

I do not know if Google updates the pagerank, but I already has over 1 years with a PR4, every time Google does not put it more difficult to attract visitors to our site, Google wants all the web traffic for them, is not just be left to compete and I am trying to get by with Google Adsense.Pero really earn a pittance if you have it 5 to attract more visitors.

do you happen to know when the next PR update will be?

I’m eager to see if my PR goes up or not.

Bob Fast — Google used to do PageRank updates like clockwork, but they only export to them to the Google toolbar once every three or four months these days.

So, expect the next update to take place at any point in the month of April.

google update again, and my other site dont change PR 🙂 I hope next update, my site get PR

My site PR is 1 🙂 i guess that means number one 😀

Nothing happened, still have zeroes on several projects. 🙁

Looking for new methods, googling and working hard.

Good luck to everyone. 😉

thats great, my PR only3. i hope google will update my PR become 4 or 6. nice blog!

I’m hoping to hit PR 5 with the next update. Some people count out PR, but I think its a good gauge to see how your link building is going.

My PR went from 3 to Zero. I have no idea why? I went from 150 quality links to over 250 in the last three months (since last PR update). Am I doing something wrong? I don’t appear to be linking to bad neighborhoods. Is Google now removing value from quality link exchanges? Are directory links worth nothing now? What changes has Google made that could bring me down from 3 to Zero? How can over 250 links from PR 2-5 sites equate to zero transfer of page rank?

thanks for sharing……. do you have a tool that know where google

is going to update the blog pr’s.

This is a really great site with alot of good well written post.Found this today via google will i was killing some time.I will be coming back and hopefully be able to contribute to the site. Thanks

Yes you are right Will. This site is really good. It has a lot useful information.

Now after 3 months from 31st Dec 08, Google finally update my site’s PR as on 2nd April 09.

Google updated the toolbar page rank again on 2 April 2009.This time they filtered more back links. Previously i have around 70 now i have just 10 back links left for my site But site rank well on all top keywords. It seems google backlinks scheme updated too. It still loves article links as i did for my site.
