Pagerank

Google has slapped many giants with its latest Pagerank update. But, it has surely turned out good for me. If you had been to my blog yesterday or the day before, you would have noticed that i have added an About page. To be specific, the Pageranks of all the sites that i have mentioned there have increased (or remained the same. but have not decreased). GotChance has become a PR5 blog and i’m very much happy with that. The pagerank’s of my other sites have increased as below :

Let me know how this Pagerank update has affected your blogs. I’m planning to sell some links (of course, with rel=”nofollow”).

My website TechJuicer has gone from 0 to 5. It’s been running 6 months and I have not paid for any advertising at all. I am over the moon!

I just landed to your blog from johnchow and cannot believe you are just 17. Cool. I have noticed about the pagerank changes as well and good that it’s worked for you. You seem to have many websites. Does all that fetch you good revenues? I guess you should submit your blog at http://www.blogadda.com so that more users can find your blog.

Chris Jacobson  -  November 4th, 2007 at 4:29 am  -  #7

Good stuff! Mine went up a point to PR2. Not bad for 2 months of blogging.

Hari  -  November 4th, 2007 at 7:54 am  -  #8

Thats really nice Chris :)

@denny : Hmm.. i’ve not heard of anyone having fluctuating pageranks unless there is a Pagerank Update…

@Sheetal,
sorry, your comment was held by Akismet.
Not much revenue from advertising. I’ve not monetized any of those sites much.
Thanks for letting me know abou BlogAdda. I will try it :)

I was so happy to see that i got upgraded to a PR7!!!

chipseo  -  November 11th, 2007 at 6:21 pm  -  #11

Mine actually increased 2 points but I was starting at nothing. Still, going from a PR0 to a PR2 was good to me. Scott

Great to hear mate, glad your PRs jumped up with the latest google update.

Did you notice how when you search for “John Chow”… JohnChow.com is not even on the first page… :)

That’s a bit funny… I think users searching for him would want the dot com to be first in the results.

Probably the same with other sites too.

I wonder, is it only the blogosphere that’s affected?

I’m new to the blog world. Would you suggest any resources to read or learn about the most effective blog techniques? I’d also like to learn how to create passive income with a blog too. Could you point me in the direction of resources for that?

Hari  -  February 14th, 2008 at 3:30 pm  -  #18

Pro Blogger is a nice place to start with…

Wow, thanks for the resource. This is a great place to learn. I’ll be spending some time there. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my comment. Have a great day!

my main site came out of the ’sandbox’ with a pagerank of 1 :( but my blog on the same domain and several pages on my site have a pagerank of 3. i changed my internal link structure and started working on backlinks to my sites root. I expect a 3 to 4 position jump on the next visual pagerank update.

Hari  -  February 25th, 2008 at 1:26 am  -  #21

Thats really sad Dito :( Hope it turns right in the next update…

Dito  -  February 25th, 2008 at 2:28 am  -  #22

@ hari.

it should. my ‘pagerank’ on each page of my site is a direct result of my seo efforts for those pages. i promoted my blog more in my backlink building campaign, thus my higher pagerank on my blog last visual pagerank update. although we don’t see it in our toolbars currently, i suspect both by blog and site root page are somewhere between PR4 and PR5. All that tells me is my ability to rank, in the end this is just a metric to very roughly gauge my efforts. results are nice and that’s waht i’m aiming for in the end.

Hari  -  February 25th, 2008 at 2:34 am  -  #23

Oh ! Thats nice…
I thought you promoted everything the same way and somehow your site didn’t get a good pagerank.

George Lindemann Jr  -  May 24th, 2008 at 2:30 pm  -  #24

Deaf Dog Training  -  July 5th, 2008 at 11:29 am  -  #25

Oconomowoc Web Designer  -  December 31st, 2008 at 10:21 pm  -  #30

There is a PageRank update going on right now. Although my main site has stayed as a 3, numerous internal pages have 2s and 3s now. I am generally finding the same trend on other sites I maintain – home page stays the same and internal pages increasing. Is anyone else seeing this?

Scott Roberts  -  January 2nd, 2009 at 5:32 pm  -  #31

Oconomowoc- no, on my main site I’m seeing everything drop by one, e.g. homepage went from 3 to 2, internal articles from 3 to 2, 2 to 1, etc. I’ve noticed that a lot of sites linking to me are dropping, too.

On another site that I’ve done absolutely no SEO on in the past year, everything has increased by 1. Go figure.

Hari  -  January 2nd, 2009 at 5:58 pm  -  #32

I don’t really keep track of the pagerank of my internal pages. So, i’m not sure about this..
