As i had told you already, the new theme is up and running now. Making a theme for wordpress is not difficult as i thought it to be. It is not too easy too. I made a PSD first, then used my HTML knowledge to code it cleanly in HTML.

After that, i used this highly detailed tutorial, to make it work with Wordpress. Of course that didn’t help completely, i had to try out some codes myself. Hope this theme has turned out good. So far, i have not experienced any errors. If you encounter any, do let me know.

As most of you would know, Facebook launched their own Facebook Platform on May 24th, on which various developers can build their own applications. This cool feature was talked all over the internet.

Mashable listed some 30 top applications on the same day here. Its growing great and i am hearing about new apps every now and then. Facebook can soon send MySpace to the second place on the list of Biggest sites.

And by the way, i am working on a new theme for Got Chance. that is the reason i lacked new post for a while. I’ll be leaving town tomorrow, so most probably, i’ll be installing the theme on Monday.

There are quite a lot of WebOS available. But DesktopTwo is surely the best and the most powerful that i have seen. When using DesktopTwo, i feel like working on my own Windows. The interface is so cool. The desktop has draggable icons and also provides contextual menu items for certain right-clicks.

The provide 1GB of free space (hard disk :p) and provide a number of cool application which include Email, Address book, RSS Reader, Calendar, Blog, Message board, Open Office, Notepad, IM, MP3 player and more..

The windows are draggable as well and the whole interface resembles windows as mush as possible. Check out a snap of my beautiful desktop :

Quick Thumbnail is really the fastest and the most powerful way to resize images online (atleast as far as i know). They have a very clean, less-confusing interface. they provide various options to resize the images :

1) Resize by Percentage
A slider is used for this that ranges from 0% to 150%. Its the best bet to resize a photo without any distortion.

2) Resize by Fixed Sizes
They have six sizes listed and the good thing is that you can select even all the six.

3) Resize by Standard Sizes
A very long list of standard sizes ranging from 16 x 16px (small icon) to 1600 x 1200px (21 inch monitor).

You can use all the options at create multiple resized images, which makes it even easier.

Usually i come to know about new websites (about which i have been posting) from related website. But the story behind me finding GabCast is a pretty interesting one. I was googling for a Web 2.0 generator and i found this one. I was generating some names and once i got “gabcast”. I liked the name, so i typed www.gabcast.com into my addressbar to find this nice website.

Let us come back to the topic.

Gabcast.com is a podcasting and audioblogging platform that offers virtual communities, individuals and organizations an easy way to create and distribute audio content.

The main actions that you can perform using GabCast are :

1. Record using your phone or VoIP
2. Create podcasts
3. Post audio to your blogs
4. Create audio greetings
5. Host conference calls

It doesn’t stop here. There are lots more that you can do. Check out their overview page for more details.

Posting audio is a pretty new feature for the blogosphere. They provide 3 plans. The basic plan is obviously a free one and the other 2 don’t cost much too. They are $6/mo and $12/mo respectively.

Today’s newbie is a tomorrow’s must-have. GabCast is one such product and i wish it all the best.

Meta Search Engine as WikiPedia defines is a search engine, which gets results from many other search engines and displays them as one. Sputtr is not a Meta search engine. But it is one page from where people can search various websites like Google, Yahoo, Youtube, Flickr, Technorati etc.. It is an easy website to build for anyone who knows PHP. What appeals is their excellent interface. Also, they have 5 languages available :

1. English
2. Deutsch
3. Francais
4. Italiano
5. Chinese

At this time i’d also like to mention VidSav, video searching website, which searches a looooooong list of video sharing websites. There are about 100. What is better is that they open the results in a frame so that it is easy for users to search other sites too. They also use Google custom Search, to search the 100 websites and display the results as one.
